Gulfstream Park and The Stronach Group welcome you to the Clasico del Caribe.
For the first time in its storied history, the premier Thoroughbred racing event in Latin America
and the Caribbean will be held in the United States. This indeed is a historic moment in
Thoroughbred racing, and Gulfstream Park is honored to become the first pari-mutuel facility
outside Latin America or the Caribbean to host the Clasico del Caribe since its inception
in 1966.
We believe this is a wonderful opportunity for Thoroughbred racing and sports fans throughout
the world to come together to take part in a day of incredible racing and festivities while
celebrating the spirit of our athletes both equine and human. We are also excited to show
off our state-of-the-art facility, the first of its kind anywhere in the world.
The Clasico del Caribe’s rich past has included participation by many of the United States’
top jockeys, including Angel Cordero, Laffit Pincay Jr., John Velazquez, Jose Lezcano,
Javier Castellano, Joel Rosario and Cornelio Velasquez. Many of the Clasico del Caribe’s
winning participants call Gulfstream Park home, including trainers Gustavo Delgado and
Agustin Bezara and jockey Emisael Jaramillo.
